Graciela and Helen

Helen was born in Arequipa, where her father and grandparents worked with wool. Graciela has always been involved with wool in one way or another, thanks to her homegrown wool dyeing and knitting talents.

Graciela had to take over her husband's knitting workshop when he died, more than 20 ago. Managing his workshop has been one of her greatest challenges, while providing for her three children, who were quite young when Graciela’s husband died. When Graciela met Helen, she no longer had to face these challenges alone. The two women soon forged a lasting friendship.

Graciela and Helen began their partnership by making small blankets for children. They are both devoted grandmothers now, and enjoy making blankets for their own grandchildren, as well.

"We enjoy working with pure alpaca wool and pima cotton. These are unique and wonderful materials, renowned around the world," Graciela and Helen explain.
